Again, not really sure what category this walls under... There really should be a category for "knotwork" or "celtic knots" or something...
Anywho, oftentimes if I'm bored in class, I'll find myself doodling, and a lot of the time, I and up experimenting with new knot designs. I came up with this one (as well as several other incarnations of this design) and liked it, so I re-drew it onto clean paper. The shading came later, because it just felt right. The scanner totally killed the smoothness of the gradient, though...  Mediums: Inked with Faber-Castell pens, shading with 0.7mm pencil Total time: 45min. or so |
